Professional Experience
2008 – Present Resident Refuge Volunteer - US Fish and Wildlife
Nestucca Bay Wildlife Refuge
Oversee site facility and grounds by maintaining property, providing service to visitors, promote safe and responsible use of the refuge, enforce rules of refuge and assist staff and volunteers to conserve refuge resources. Develop, plan, coordinate and implement interpretation and environmental education (EE) programs. Support division staff with special events and programs.
2003 – 2008 Arts and Outreach Coordinator
City of Lakewood, Heritage Culture and the Arts
Custom designed, implemented and facilitated the first cultural educational outreach programs for The City of Lakewood, the fourth largest city in Colorado. Researched and developed cross-curricular programs in conjunction with cultural heritage, visual arts and performance for school aged participants, corporate and community groups and artists from diverse disciplines. Created an outreach network to connect with the community by offering experiential programs through customized, hands-on learning. Established administrative infrastructure and procedures for staff reviews and evaluations. Responsible for financial administration which consisted of costing programs, ordering materials and supplies, contracting professionals, acquiring and managing grants and formulating the yearly budget for the outreach division. Successfully created and provided the leadership to make this department financially viable and an important educational resource in the Denver metro area. Effectively developed relationships and represented the Arts Programs Division for the city to businesses, city council, and community organization to coordinate fund raising and sponsorships, initiate grant opportunities, and development for the unification of future programs.
2002 - 2006 Sculpture & Ceramics Instructor

Instructed students in all aspects of three-dimensional ceramic art including, functional wares, sculpture and two-dimensional clay mono-printing. Assisted in firings and studio maintenance. Developed exhibitions and special events to promote the arts center and programming.

Designed art department program and coordinated projects to follow Montessori philosophy and humanities curriculum. Instructed students in an artistic manner to incorporate a variety of experiences, approaches and media including; sculpture, ceramics, design, photography, painting, drawing and digital design.
